The standoff over union rights that rocked Wisconsin and the nation for weeks headed for a quick end Thursday, as Republican lawmakers were set to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from the state's public workers and deliver one of the strongest blows to the power of unions in years.
I was sorry to hear about this blow to labor. I have a feeling the story is not over yet, though. I am proud to be a union member. I have been a union member all my adult life, and even now in retirement, I am still a dues paying member ($2 per month) of my union. Solidarity forever!
